One of my favorite baby stores, Twinkle Twinkle Little One (3224 N. Damen Ave., Chicago, 773-472-3000) in Roscoe Village, has opened a second location at 2007 W. Belmont St., just around the corner from the original space. The second location is a design showroom focusing on an expanded selection of furniture and fabric. The Damen Avenue location will be dedicated to gifts, toys, and clothing.

I visited the new 2,100 sq. ft. spot on opening day last Friday, and it is a showstopper. Owner Rachel Glasson has curated a collection of furniture and décor that is adorable but much more timeless and upscale than most nursery designs. Flip through the custom fabrics to create bedding and pillows (at much less expensive prices than most custom options), browse furniture options from Relics and Nurseryworks and even create custom furniture with the help of Ari Smejkal of Hammer Designs. Basically the idea is if you can dream it, they can execute it. The line of Best Chairs is also still in store. (That’s not an editorial – that’s really what they are called – and the line lives up to the name. This was my biggest splurge with my first child, and it remains one of my favorite pieces of furniture in the house. It is the most comfortable nursing chair ever and is stylish enough to transfer to our living room when we retire from the baby making business.) An expanded selection of nursery art and other décor options are also stocked alongside cute plushies, clothing, and books. Stop in and see for yourself!
