Note to my readers: I just had a baby on Monday, so the sales calendar is somewhat abbreviated this week. But here are the consignment sales coming up over the weekend — get ready to bargain!
Rhea Lana’s of West Chicagoland holds its consignment sale from Sunday, Sept. 23rd from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Villa Oaks Shopping Center (218 W. Roosevelt Rd.,Villa Park). Admission is free; cash or credit accepted for purchases. I have been to this sale twice previously, and merchandise-wise, it is indisputably one of the best. (I snagged a train table for less than $20. A pretty sweet deal.) The flip side? I can also say from experience that it’s best to leave the kids at home, as both times I attended, I ended up commiserating with other moms about the staff’s prickly behavior towards the little ones. Just keep it in mind.

Cloth bags, rolling carts, and laundry baskets permitted for shopping.
