Local bedding and houseware company Unison (2000 W. Fulton St., Chicago, 877-492-7960) has now opened its studio to the public every Friday from noon to 6 p.m. Unison’s bedding, linens, and fabric mix simple patterns with bold colors, and the studio is the perfect spot to browse and appreciate the plushness of the full line. My toddler’s assessment of the Harbor French blanket was “Oh, soft. Cozy,” and then he laid his head on it. That’s a pretty ringing endorsement from a two-year-old. Check out the baby and kid collections of bedding, blankets, pillows and sheets, all of which are classic enough to grow with your child from big kid bed to teen room. The stroller-friendly showroom is definitely worth a visit. The only hitch is parking, unsurprising for the Fulton Market district. Unison is west of Damen Avenue, but parking is easier to the east of Damen on Fulton Street.
