And I’m sorry to report that Bucktown’s Urban Mom Salon has closed its doors. The brilliant concept paired salon and spa treatments with babysitting services—I loved being able to get a haircut in the middle of the day, and my son loved playing with the train table. Everybody wins. I only found out about the closure when I called yesterday to make an appointment and discovered that the phone was disconnected and the Web site was defunct. Bummer. Here’s hoping that this idea finds new legs elsewhere!
